Galaxy Nexus 2 camera samples spied on Picasa ... - Know Your Cell

Snapshots purported to have been taken by the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2 have appeared on Picasa, adding weight to speculation that the next ?vanilla? Google smartphone will be released in the coming weeks.

Interestingly the images appear to originate from Samsung's Gurgaon offices, based just outside New Delhi, where the company is known to develop its photographic equipment, lending more than an element of credibility to them.

While the images aren?t of anything particularly exciting, the EXIF data included is sufficient to pique our interest, as it appears to confirm that the images were taken by the Samsung GT-I9260 ? which is rumored to be the model number of the Samsung?s Galaxy Nexus 2.

Rumors suggest that the Galaxy Nexus 2 will launch with an 8-megapixel primary camera, which would be a marked improvement over the laughably poor 5-megapixel offering found in the original Galaxy Nexus. The device will also see a beefed-up 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera too.

The Nexus 2 is rumored to be launching in November and sources suggest the device will sport a dual-core 1.5GHz CPU, 16GB of on-board storage, SD card support and a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display.

The tradition of launching a new Nexus device with a brand new iteration of Android may well be put on the back burner with the device, though, as 4.1, aka?Jelly Bean, only launched in July with the company?s Nexus 7 tablet. But who knows, the powers that be at Google may be pulling split shifts just to bring us a slice of Key Lime Pie in time for the holidays!
