(TheBlaze/AP) ? San Diego County authorities say roughly $100,000 worth of jewelry has been stolen in a burglary at the home of California U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa.
U-T San Diego says more than 50 items, including watches, rings, earrings and bracelets, were taken from the Vista home on Nov. 29 sometime between 6:40 p.m. and 7:20 p.m.
Issa spokesman Frederick Hill said the pieces cannot be replaced.
?The items that were taken were irreplaceable family heirlooms that were inherited by the Issa family,? he told the newspaper. ?As there is a current investigation, further questions should be directed to the San Diego County Sheriff?s Department.?
No arrests have been made, but police say they are tracking down a number of leads.
The Republican who chairs the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is one of the wealthiest members of Congress with an estimated net worth of around $215 million as of last summer, according to Politico.?
